Carp Bait DevelopmentINTRODUCTION
CarpBaitUK is dedicated to producing the finest carp baits possible. Our main objective is to develop baits that are unique right down to the base materials. Eliminating as many common denominators as possible (ingredients that carp are familiar with) but at the same time introducing new innovative and exciting ingredients from around the world.
The big problem specifically with commercial carp baits on the market today, is that most are made from different combinations of the same base ingredients, as they had been for the last 30 plus years. The only thing that has progressed is the attractors and additives which have been used to give new life to an old concept, so what would be the point in producing another bait that fell into the same category as all the rest. This is not what CarpBaitUK is all about, our aim is to be as innovative and different in as many ways as possible and our promise was to keep the anglers using our baits in front of the rest of the crowd.
A NEW BEGINNING: The first step towards achieving this goal was to look at all the ingredients that had been used heavily in the past, especially those that had been pretty much in all carp baits. These ingredients that make up an integral bait structure and have done for many years are what we call common denominators, i e: eggs, milk proteins, soya products, colourings and preservatives. Some of which like soya have low conversion rates to body mass. we personally have never liked soya products as they have a tendency to turn baits rancid very quickly if used in large quantities, making baits float to the surface after just a day or so. (How many of you have used baits that do this during a session). Clearly no good for a long term pre-baiting programme. The reason for eliminating the above common denominators is that carp have become accustomed to them and are perfectly able to detect these products as they become soluble in water, and have become extremely wary around baits containing them, after all they have been present in almost all carp baits for the last thirty years in some form or another, so they all had to go.
THE NEXT STEP: Over the last few years new research has been done with fish nutrition with regards to conversion of food items to body mass and overall health. The one thing that is totally conclusive is that if one item is lacking in a fish diet i.e: a vitamin, mineral, or part of the amino chain, even a lack of the correct lipid supply, all the other ingredients however good they are cannot be utilised to their full efficiency. This can result in lack of weight gain, ill health and in extreme cases increased mortality. The early signs of this are FISH NOT FEEDING and that is the most detrimental thing any angler is faced with, you cannot catch carp if they are off the feed. |  “THE BOILIE IS NOT DEAD, IT HAS JUST BEEN REINVENTED” After searching the globe for new materials we finally done it and we called it THE SECRET. No eggs, no milk proteins, no soya products, no colourings or preservatives.
THE SECRET is not just an HNV bait, it is a high biological value bait, although we cannot tell you what is in the bait we can tell you it contains everything that carp require to sustain a healthy existence. Nothing has been left out right down to the smallest and what may seem like the most insignificant elements. It also does not contain anything that the carp do not require as we have designed the profile specifically for carp, i.e: the correct vitamin, mineral, amino, protein, carbohydrate and lipid requirements only. We have not used off the shelf products in any way or form, as an example like most bait companies using amino and vitamin profiles designed for human or animal supplements.
Why the secret you may ask, well because it will remain a secret. The baits will only be available in finished form, you will not be able to purchase the base mix ingredients or the attractors separately. Our reason for this is to stop other bait companies and anglers from adding our ingredients and additives to an inferior base mix, as this could result in anglers catching off the hard work of other anglers who have been pre-baiting and using our products. Which in turn would render our bait less effective. That will be our promise to all who use our bait, as the test results have proven that the more that goes in as in it’s true form over a sustained period the more the carp will get on it and stay on it for a long period of time.
